Decision

Apr. 25th, 2009 | 05:32 pm

Guilty feelings may creep up on you when you fall for some distinctly expensive item that you just must have.

Do u allow that guilt to triumph, and say no at the last minute?

Or do u tell yourself  that it's stunningly beautiful, that u can't live without it, and it will be a brilliant investment?

You Choose!

Hello World!

Apr. 20th, 2009 | 12:48 am

Cleared my Analogue Electronics lab test on Sat. Quite confident about it, although I took quite a while to interpret the results. Submitted the last of my reports electronically. One more Aerospace Management Quiz to go this Friday! After that, I need to prepare really well for the Exams in mid-May. Sheeshz.

Hello world! I'm still alive and kicking!

I was thinking about the recent happenings. There was no happy ending, but that did not mean that I had nothing to gain from that episode. The result was, I feel more confident about myself, and to handle situations and to manage my thoughts. But I think there's still more to learn from lessons that life can provide.

Moving on!

Caught up with a few fellas for the movie, "Taken" at AMK Hub. Nice movie, if you are into disturbing scenes.

Thoughts

Apr. 16th, 2009 | 12:57 am

I welcome frank evaluation,

but I dislike being judged.

It's like, a verdict being passed without any due consideration from the defendant.

It puts me in a defensive stance.

And no, I dun believe in appeals.

Sing Dollar

Apr. 10th, 2009 | 03:19 pm

I want to watch this. Any interested? Comments shall be screened.

BTW, i read the news that MAS will devalue the Sing Dollar. I think they should have done it months ago. The current exchange rate cannot justify our present economic situation.

Upgrading VS Maintenance

Mar. 24th, 2009 | 01:36 pm

Four—year—old boy injured by rusty metal bar at playground

Independent inquiry committee to investigate fall of girl at Telok Blangah

I wonder, the Town Councils, who are so enthusiatic about showcasing the upgrading works (as evident from the newletters I get in my letterbox),

have they neglected the basic need for periodic maintenance for the facilities that they have once built?

How Boyish or Girlish Are You?

Mar. 8th, 2009 | 08:20 pm

You Are 50% Boyish and 50% Girlish
You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.
Hmmm I like this. Kinda describes me. Just Bo Chup. wheee~
Looking on, as the world goes by.

S'porean removed from SIA flight after 'bomb' joke

Jan. 11th, 2009 | 06:17 pm

Singaporean Removed from SIA Flight After "Bomb" Joke

Never mind how you called it: Paranoid, Enthusiatic,Kiasu,Kiasee....

Here's a guide on how to avoid being entangled in such sticky stiuations by resisting suggestive terms:

1) "I need to BOMB the toilet!"

2) "It cost me a BOMB to fly with SIA!"

3) To the air stewardness or steward, "sex BOMB sex BOMB, you're my sex BOMB. And Baby you can really turn me on! "

(erm, just dun sing or even hum any song with the word BOMB or even part therein in any lyrics)

4) "eh, so many ang-mohs here. Don't use our BOMBbastic Singlish here can?"

Anymore that I can add?

P.S. Anybody knows where I can get cheap and good nokia batteries? Original and "Nokia Compatible" ones also can. As long as those are reliable. Mine can hardly hold a full charge for 8 hrs liao before a blank screen appears on my phone.
Battery model is BP-5M.

Regards to all!

Melaka Trip

May. 6th, 2008 | 08:49 pm

Met at 7am at Andrew's house area, plus a couple, that made four of us for the day trip to melaka. We went by Tuas 2nd link, toll charge was $4.60 and RM10.80 on the SG and MY side respectively. Stop by the first R&R stop just before GP town. Had Mee Rebus and teh tarik for breakfast, while the 3 others had curry puffs. Top-up petrol at Esso nearby before moving off to our final destination.

On the NS highway:

NS highway is easy on cruising and speeding and pretty much fuss-free to travel on, other than looking out for the cops who would pounce on speeding vehicles at first chance, especially Singapore registered ones... But it is easier said than done when one is driving on well-paved, mostly straight roads and the board signs screaming "300km+ more to Kuala Lumpur". But if you are unluckily enough, do be prepared to pay some coffee money

On Malaysia's NS highway, always give way to faster moving vehicles, even to those who read the highway as NS Autobahn... it is not advisable to hog the outermost right lane as there are very aggressive drivers. They are capable of tailgating you at very high speed with their bumpers nearly touching you, forcing you out of their way. It is different compared to riding on Singapore’s Highway where you can stay on the outermost right lane as long as you hit the legal speed limit of 90kmh.
Oh, the legal speed limit is 110kmh on the NS Highway. However, most vehicles go way beyond that. Probably to test the maximum speed of their vehicle...

We arrived at Mahkota Parade Shopping Centre. Walked around for a while, before walking to the Famosa Chicken Rice Ball for lunch. I like the Chinese imperial palace concept, and it even have a throne hall for people to relish being a Emperor and take snapshots at it. Costumes not included. We set off for Melaka Megamall after lunch. Nice and cool place, newly built mall at Jonker Street. Oh, the street snaking through Jonker had been converted to a pedestrian mall.

It is said that all good things will come to an end, and to mark an end to our journey, we drove to the neighbouring state of Johore. However, as heavy-hearted as I sound, there are times we could really sit down for some good and cheap seafood at Hai Kee Seafood, Taman Sri Tebrau, Johore Bahru. We had a late lunch, and so we did not have appetites for some crabs. (Missed the butter crabs at Gelang Patah Town)

Time to book in to SG. Left for JB Customs. long car queues as usual. Oh, managed to get my KL coach ticket at Merlin Tower for the following day...

16-17 April 2007

Apr. 19th, 2008 | 12:46 pm

Took leave on Thursday and Friday. Thursday was spent at JB for a follow-up med appt. with an ex-colleague. Had lunch over at Kenny Rogers at City Square. Food was good and cheap, only about RM60 for two. Wanted to do a haircut at Jantzen coz they are having a promotion, only RM32 for director's cut and wash, but decided to put it off at a later date. Then head down to a "men's health centre"(str8 kind). Took a cab there with a driver who clearly couldn't be bothered with punctured tire but drove anyway.

Oh, talking about exchange rates, it is now S$1 to RM2.30!!  after MAS adopted a currency strengthening stance with the US dollar hitting a record low against Sing. A good measure to "export inflation" back to Malaysia since the city state's infation rate hit 6%. Let's hope it reaches Rm2.45 which I got years back.

Left the health centre in the evening, and we headed down to Sentosa(JB) for "zi char" (chinese restaurant-style dishes at affordable prices). Food was ok and of coz, cheap. I like the frog legs with chicken essence. tasty. Suggested going back to City Square for movie, but my friend was tired for the day. So we headed back home to Singapore.

Friday afternoon was spent with a Fag-hag at KM8 beach bar, Sentosa. Ordered Tuborgs and Heinekens, about 5bottles in a bucketful of ice. Talk about ice cold beer.

I still prefer Cafe Del Mar though.

Had late night supper with a colleague at Lavender. After that, drove down to Plaza Singapura for a late-night movie, "The Forbidden Kingdom" No cute actors, but there was a very pretty actress by the name of Liu YiFei. She looked like the younger version of Lucy Liu. And my stoopid colleague kept nugging be during the show about how "chio" Liu YiFei was.

Today: probably ride to Malaysia via 2nd Link for bike wash and petrol. Not forgetting that nice nice chicken rice stall at Gelang Patah town.

Inflation

Feb. 2nd, 2008 | 11:43 am

"There was one evening at the neighbourhood Shop N Save
when an elderly woman in her 60s asked me to look at the price tag on a 50g bottle of Nescafe.
I looked and told her the price. It was now dearer by almost a dollar.
She sighed,
and put the bottle back on the shelf"

I think the Goverment needs to do more for the poor, when the National Budget is announced on Feb 15th. I'm pretty sure the Government can pay more than just $290/mth (wtf eat what!) in public assistance, especially when it is predicted to run a surplus of $4billion. And that is equivalent to $1000 per citizen!

Oh pls stop spending Tens of billions of dollars bailing out some foreign banks, what about the poor sitting in the backyard?

Just some morning rants.

peace out

KL 4-7 Jan 2008

Jan. 14th, 2008 | 10:49 pm

uNothing much to say, just wanna say Thanks you guys very much! to Seaweeds and his Pudding for bringing me around KL. From the gay pub, Frangipani, to clubs such as La Queen, and "Lost World", which is the equivalent of Singapore's Fort/Katong Park, where Mr *ahem* had his numerous escapades. Pudding drove me there on the 1st nite and Seaweeds on the 2nd. Oh there was this cute looking(my assumption) guy there...who seemingly left in a huff (I heard his car door slammed shut before he drove off) ...keke. nice nice "zhi char" which they pronounced as "chi zar" , late nite supper with Pudding at Durbar having roti "canai"(prata still sounds better), the nice fancy restaurant opposite Frangi (erm wad's that called again?)Petaling street selling lots of genuine "fakes" which unfortunately doesn't have Transformers, shopping centres from "dodgy" (quote) SG Wang Plaza to the exclusive Sri Hartamas/Plaza Damas where by coincidence, we found 2 cock paintings in a Thai restaurant which we fittingly took a photograph with. Oh, there's a fantastic gay shop called "rainbow" which stock everything gay-novels,mags,toys,and of course hundreds or maybe thousands of gay movies/porn DVDs. Oh, that 6-star toilet which is a must-visit. Yes, a toilet,do not misread me.Hmm couldn't rem where it was. Oh, paid a visit to Private Structure(equivalent to Jox)at Bangsar Village and we had Nasi Lemak nearby which was a must to queue for.Hmm what else did i missed out. yadayadadada

I'm typing all these str8 out from my mind without any editing so pls pardon my engrish or better just skip this post enty.

Boring stuff aside:
Teaser of the day:

How to you differentiate a Singaporean motorbiker from a Malaysian one?

Chances you see on the road are, most Singapore bikes will have a compartment box to hold the helmet or raincoat.
Malaysian ones do not.

okok, maybe I'm biased lol
*ah bish

Riding Log: Gelang Patah 16/12/2007

Dec. 18th, 2007 | 01:54 pm

Gelang Patah is the first town after passing through the 2nd link. That's approx. 10km from Customs! For that distance, that's about halfway through Singapore liaoz.

Riding Log: Taman Sentosa, JB Makan

Dec. 15th, 2007 | 12:11 pm

Went JB with 11 other colleagues for makan session on the 7th of Dec. Entourage consisted of 3 cars and 3 bikes. I'm one of the bikers

Our final destination:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Picture taken with Nokia Navigator GPS

Mental note: For bikers only. Never exit at Woodlands Centre Road from BKE to gain access to the checkpoint. Only point of entry is a slip road diectly from BKE. We were lucky that the customs officer showed flexibility by clearing us at the car lanes.

About the roads in MY: Pros. Lanes are much wider than in SG. Good for bikers who tend to squeeze thru' traffic. Cons. Beware of drivers there. They may not observe traffic rules even if you have the right of way. Defensive riding/driving is paramount there.

Forgot to take foodie pictures. Anyway, I noticed that usually the "zi char" at the Malaysian side doesn't normally look appealing to the eye, But I can say that the food's fantastic!

Probably will explore the places at the 2nd link coming Next Friday.

The Bar:Transformers:Dragonfly

Dec. 9th, 2007 | 04:13 am

Well, it was supposed to be an uneventful Sat nite watching my DVD series bought from Johor. Shall blog that later. Anyway met up with Mr Optimus at The Bar for KTV over a juggie and some nuts. And oh, we left before we get to sing that hokkien song called No.3 Mami. lol.

Went to his house to take a look at his new renovated bedroom and private loo. Not Bad. And I couldn't resist taking pics with this Big Boy:

Fortess Maximus! He's huge!

Left the place shortly after to catch up with my colleagues at Dragonfly@ St. James Power Station. The traffic was horrendous that there was barely even space for a bike to "squeeze" through. Probably due to the Zoukout event at Sentosa. Perhaps the entrance to St. James shouldn't be located along the road linking Sentosa causeway.

Dragonfly rocks with their stage bands and Scorpion King, a fantastic crooner I must say. And during intermittent periods between the stage performances, club music mixes played were similar to those played at Powerhouse. I would prefer Dragonfly over Powerhouse anytime if not for the str8 crowds. But then again, there were some cute ones around...
